The latest news from DEME

Brussels – DEME is the new ‘Onderneming van het Jaar®’ 2015. For the 21st time, EY, in collaboration with De Tijd and BNP Paribas Fortis, organised the event of the ‘Onderneming van het Jaar®’. This year, DEME was selected as winner from a group that included Accent Jobs, B&R Bouwgroep and Renson. Chairman Luc Bertrand and CEO Alain Bernard received the award from Federal Vice-Premier and Minister of Work Kris Peeters.

Each year, EY honours companies that distinguish themselves by impressive growth and an eye for innovation, an international presence, entrepreneurship, strategic vision and perseverance.

Chairman of the jury Count Paul Buysse explained the choice: “DEME is an impressive international company, but its international character is certainly not the only reason it was crowned winner of ‘Onderneming van het Jaar®’ 2015. It has numerous qualities that explain our choice. The organisation has created an optimum relationship between management and shareholders, and continuously strives to be the best in the world in terms of technology and innovation. Moreover, the organisation’s culture is based on great respect for its employees. DEME can also boast of an impressive record of sustained and profitable growth.”

In his closing speech, Alain Bernard thanked all employees worldwide: “This trophy represents a symbol of teamwork! It is an award that we truly have earned together!
